Welcome to Fulfilled Within Podcast. I'm Gaby, and I'm the host of this podcast. In today's episode, I want to talk about why you need to know yourself before you can find your purpose.

When I say know yourself, I mean it in a deep way, in a way that is deeper than knowing about your favourite food, your best friends, or your favourite colour. I mean knowing yourself in the sense of knowing your origin story, knowing your wounds, knowing the journey you have undertaken to get to where you are today.

So why is this important? The reason why this is important as part of finding your purpose is because all of your lived experience contributes to your purpose.

The things you have overcome illuminates one part of your purpose. The wounds you have held deeply gives a new perspective on your purpose. The journey you have undertaken is very precious and unique to yourself.

And so, since you are the only one in the world that has undertaken your exact specific journey, you are also the only one in the world who can offer that exact medicine for this world.

Everyone has a different origin story, different wounds, different trauma, different experiences of life, different journey. And so, my purpose would be different than your purpose.

Even if two people, say, have the same profession — for example, two people are both doctors — they would have a different purpose, just because they have a different origin story and life experience.
