How I work: Bridging career counselling & depth psychotherapy

Traditionally, career counselling utilises career tests & assessments to help clients figure out what they want to do next. Career counsellors may also help with resume writing and interview preparation, as part of the client’s journey in securing their next role.

Whereas depth psychotherapy is usually utilised for trauma work. It assists clients in finding meaning from their experience, and guides the ways in which healing can occur.

In my work, I utilise depth psychotherapy to assist clients in finding what feels resonant in their next steps in career and studies, so they can engage those aspects of life with meaning and purpose.

It’s as if there are two separate things: career counselling and depth psychotherapy — and through my work, I become the bridge in-between both worlds.

My approach is person-centred, which means I meet you where you’re at and tailor my approach to suit your needs. A session with me could look very different from one to another. Here are some examples of what it may look like:

  • I listen deeply to your story and understand what it is you want for yourself

  • I assist you in developing your self-trust, including exploring why it might be hard for you to do so

  • We tap into creative ways of knowing, such as metaphors, images and sensations, as helpful guidance in your journey of finding fulfillment

  • I invite you to consider your own lived experience as a guidepost of what might feel personally meaningful for you

  • We work together to untangle your fears & limiting beliefs, so you can move towards what truly lights you up

In the past, I’ve received feedback that my style is empathetic, thoughtful, and grounding — these are at the heart of what I offer, as I guide you in navigating confusion & self-doubt so you can move towards clarity and ease.

While I don't offer career tests & assessments, I have a referral partnership with someone who does, if you are interested in engaging with those resources alongside our work together.

I believe that this work can be the road towards fulfillment, and I’d be honoured to be your guide in this journey.

If my approach seems resonant, I invite you to book a 20-minute complimentary call to see whether working together feels suitable.
