Welcome to Fulfilled Within Podcast. In this second episode, I will tell my story — my journey to where I am now.

My journey began when I was finishing high school. I was in Year 12, and I didn't know what I want to do afterwards. So what I did was, I asked around and see what other people are doing, and I took other people's advice. And I studied Computer Science because my dad suggested it.

In the first year of my Computer Science studies, I realised that it's not for me, but I didn't know what I wanted to do. And so I tried to change degrees. I moved degrees four times in the period of two years, and I went back to where I started. So I decided to finish my Computer Science degree and just see what happens.

In the meantime, I started working as a Software Engineer. I was in the role for six months, and then I had the opportunity to move to a role in Product Management, and so I took the chance.

Initially, that felt better. That seems more interesting and manageable than being a Software Engineer. But after a few months, I got bored of it. I dread Mondays and I look forward to the weekends, because then I can just relax and not have to work. But of course Monday always comes around, and here I am, back where I don't feel fulfilled.

After some synchronicities, I would say, I stumbled upon Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I decided to pursue a Master's degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. And now I am a therapist who specialises in assisting adults who want to have a more fulfilling career and life, young adults who want to study in a more aligned degree, as well as teenagers finishing high school who are looking to see what they want to do afterwards.

So my specialty is very much informed by my own lived experience. I have been that teenager who didn't know what to do after high school. I have been that young adult who was in a degree that was misaligned for me. And I had also been in an unfulfilling job.

And from all of that experience, I found a missing link. And so, now, I commit myself to sharing what I wish I knew back then to the people who need it the most now, and I do it through my counselling offerings.
